Dreaming Of Cyprus Property
from: by Kevin MooreWho doesn't dream of a home in the sun
at some time or another? Probably lots of people have a dream of owning a
holiday home but it remains just that. A dream. The fact is however that owning
a holiday home in the sun is more of a possibility than many folks imagine if
they only had all the facts at their disposal. They see a huge price tag and
quickly write the idea off or put it down to pure wishful thinking resolved in
the idea that it is well beyond their reach. Well they may well just be mistaken
because a holiday home in the sun is more affordable than you think if you are
open to the possibilities.
The property market in Cyprus is experiencing
a massive boom right now and a lot of people are going to make a lot of money by
investing in holiday homes on the Island. There are homes of every kind
available and they are being built to a very high standard both structurally as
well as in terms of the finished standard. Fully fitted kitchens and air
conditioning in every room are often offered as standard fittings in many of
these beautiful Cyprus properties. Luxuries like private swimming pools are the
norm as are spacious sun terraces and balconies too.
It all sounds rather
lovely buy of course it still comes at a price beyond the reach of many home
owners in the U.K. and other parts of Europe too. There are however solutions to
this problem if you are brave enough to take a calculated risk in the investment
of your property. Many U.K. home owners have built up a lot of equity in their
houses over the past few years and their mortgages are quite small too. Some of
these people have borrowed money against their homes to either fully finance a
Cyprus property or put down a deposit to finance at least part of it.
The
good news is that the major Cyprus banks will lend money to foreign buyers
(subject to status of course) wishing to purchase property on the Island. Many
people are therefore raising what they can on their U.K. property and financing
the balance in this way. They are then renting their holiday homes out whilst
they are not using them themselves to raise some or all of the loan repayments.
For them the dream of owning a Cyprus property has become a reality because they
were willing to take a calculated risk. The great news for them is that property
prices tend to go up which means in a few years time they are likely to have
made a substantial profit on their original investment.
In fact a lot of
brave buyers who took the plunge a few years ago and decided to live the dream
have in fact doubled their money! We all know what happened in Spain and how
many hesitant buyers were left behind because they dithered about whilst prices
rose beyond their reach. Well will you be one of the guys down the pub in 20
years time moaning how cold it is and how you nearly purchased a beautiful
Cyprus property but were not brave enough to make your move?
